Deerfield Beach Housing Authority (DBHA) has a mission to create, provide and increase high quality housing opportunities. In order to accomplish this mission DBHA has worked to make a variety of rental housing and housing assistance options available to Deerfield Beach residents.
The DBHA owns and operates federally subsidized rental housing for eligible low income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in a portfolio of properties located in Deerfield Beach. Eligibility is based on annual gross income, whether you qualify as elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family and is limited to U.S. citizens or those with eligible immigration status. If you do not qualify for DBHA operated housing, there are other housing options that may interest you.
Several affordable housing properties offer eligible families the opportunity to rent apartments or townhomes at rates lower than current market rents. These properties are separate and distinct from the DBHA portfolio and are operated under different guidelines.
Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Housing Choice Voucher Program enables low-income residents of Deerfield Beach to rent from private landlords with rental assistance administered by the Assisted Housing Department. Participants come from an established waiting list. Applications for this program are available only when the wait list is open. Eligibility for a rental voucher is based on annual gross income and is limited to U.S. citizens and specified categories of non-citizens who have eligible immigration status.
